So I wrote this during KCCT testing last year and I thought i'd share it.
Puzzle Piece
Chapter 1
Breann Wathen
“Damn it Victoria! Do we have to go through this every night.?”
My dad bellows out a long sigh as he plops down in a dining chair. I was peeping around the hallway corner to see tonight’s round. I had just came from Braxton’s room to check on him. My parents do this all the time, well only select days. Mom ets pissed when Dad isn’t home by ten so she can go to Walgreen’s for 3rd shift. Dad hates being at home, I just know it. He hates the fact o =f being here, knowing that Mom gonna start something, that Braxton and me have to witness it, that he has nowhere to go. It’s 1 a.m. (a new record) and he just came back from the bar with his co-workers.
“This wouldn’t happen if you could just be home by ten Mark! I have a job too! You think little crap job you have now is worth something? Do you really Mark?” Mom was stooped over in front of him, throwing her arms in all kinds of directions.
“Vic, just take this money and go. Just go away.” He reached inside his pocket, knowing nothing was left but handed her all he had.
“Just go away? Let me just get the hell away from you. You just put me in the worst mood.” Mom snatched the money from his grip and slammed the door.
Dad rubbed his blood-shot eyes with pain. I could look past them and see all his thoughts. How he wanted to drift off to a distant land, that he didn’t say I didn’t say “I do.” but then wondering if Braxton and me weren’t born. I peeked into Braxton’s room to see if he was still asleep. He tossed over and let out a soft coo. I stroked his soft chestnut hair but only to pull out a clump of
Play-Doh. Oh, little brothers.
I was walking back to my room I heard a sniffle. Dad had his face in hands. I walked over to him and tapped his shoulder.
“Dad, are you alright?”
“Yeah.” he sat up and looked into his eyes. He’s lying.
“I hear you guys every night, now what’s going on?” I pulled up another chair beside him.
“Don’t worry about me. Now go get some sleep.” I gave him a pitiless look.
“Ok, your mom and I aren’t on the best of terms. And I don’t know what to do.” I saw a few more tears fall. I pulled him in for a hug. One of those special hugs I used to get when I was younger. Like when a pet ran away or when Dad came back from a trip. A nice comforting hug to show you care. So, I felt a slight wetness on my shoulder. I whispered “I love you.” into his ear and cradled him ‘til 3 a.m.

Always Loved You * ORIGINAL SONG*
So I write songs and stuff and here's one. FYI: "Chronicles of a MisGuided Chick" is some kind of album name I came up with and don't you dare think or stealing my work.
Always Loved You
Breann Wathen
Chronicles of a MisGuided Chick
I guess he will never know
How I feel deep inside
So I guess I’ll keep it that way
And never tell him why
Love is so unexpected
Never thought I would give in
Now I’m just an emotional mess
Trying to make you understand
Your lips your touch
I can’t get enough
Your smile your face
Too bad I always say
I’m taken I’m leaving
Never gonna know how
Never ever know
I always loved you
Open doors are never closed
Like my heart it shows
Love to see your face
Then I always think
How it could be
Just you and me
Burn the pictures now
Happy faces melt in the dark
Memories gone
Your lips your touch
I can’t get enough
Your smile your face
Too bad I always say
I’m taken I’m leaving
Never gonna know how
Never ever know
I always loved you
Ohh Oh
Love it shows
Oh Oh!
Feeling your vibe
Oh Ohh Ohh!
Your love on my mind.
Your lips your touch
I can’t get enough
Your smile your face
Too bad I always say
I’m taken I’m leaving
Never gonna know how
Never ever know
I always loved you
That I
I always loved you
Yeah Yeah
I love you
Oh ohh ohh

NEW FAN FICTION! *REPLACING "QUITE THE CHARMER"* **PREVIEW**
Well, I am prone to keep changing things so here we go again. I replacing "Quite the Charmer" for a different FF. Read that again. I'm not going to quit writing my FF though. First things first, I need a title for it because right now it's called "smosh.wps" XD
Sooo yeah and Second, I need a cast. No, it's not like a play or anything, I just need people to play people. NOTE: I will be changing the name to match yours. If you don't understand what I just said (cause I didn't. not like it's the first time. :P) in the story, your name won't be Sally, it'll be your name. Gub'mint name. So just tweet me on twitter (@ZzZzAaAaPpP) or my email (angel513542@hotmail.com apparently I'm stupid cause I use Hotmail. FU IAN!) ON WITH THE PREVIEW!!! :D
“Can you just please stop? That’s so gross.” I shielded my eyes from her. “Whatever, you know you’re gonna have to do it someday too, ya whore.” Stacy jabbed the pickle at my abs, which had been coming along very nicely thanks to my AB Core Lounge (courtesy of my mom). “Uh no. Now stop that so we start planning this party.” I resumed writing down some possible party ideas. I still can’t believe that Stacy is getting married before me. It’s like I’m the sweet and shy angel and she’s the sinister yet sexy devil. Basically what guys go for nowadays. “Yeah girl! But note this: I want a huge jar of pickles there. Like HUGE. And maybe you could get some buff but lean-” Stacy was mimicking something that looked like a man with her hands, exaggerating on the, well, you know. “Okay okay! Pickles and male strippers, check. Anthony-I mean Anything else your heiress?” Oh shit. “HA! I heard that and I knew it!” Stacy jumped up from her floor pillow and began to dance around me, pickle pieces spewing from mouth. “Stacy! Your getting this crap all the over rug!” I karate-chopped her ankle, making her fall softly onto the red ottoman. She flipped over from her belly and rubbed her shoulder, still pointing at me. “I knew you had a thing for Anthony, you not-good-at-lying-nor-hiding-things-from-me-cause-I’ll-always-find-out sneak!” Stacy pinned my arm behind my back. “Now say it! Admit that you love Anthony!” Stacy was giggling but this was not funny. Stacy would not make a good housewife because when she had me pinned down, all kinds of mysterious things were residing in my mouth. “No!” I was coughing but she began to squeeze tighter. “OKAY! I really like Anthony! I think I might love him with all my heart! He’s just so…perfect!”” Stacy let go and as I got back up, swiping all the lint from my mouth, Ian stood in the door, mouth wide open. More to come. I don't know why it looks all weird but bare with me. Maybe cause I copy and pasted it here X)
My Bride Dressed in BLOOD. * ORIGINAL SONG*
So this kind of emo/screamo/punk/dark song I made during Science class (surprised I made it to the 9th grade! :P)
Kiss the bride
She’s taken everything you own
Dragging you down from your
precious royal throne
When you kiss her lips
You still the blood
Of all the others
She has loved
She holds a troubled past within her hollow chest
everywhere she goes
She’s guaranteed to leave a mess
She fooled you son
Now there’s nowhere left to run
Don’t try to put up a fight
She will never left you leave her sight
Licking her lips, holding you hand
Grabbing tightly as she can
Deadly daggers, cold stares in her eyes
Shedding you of your simple life
She’s so satisfied of the battle
She has won
She’s gotten to take the life
Of another she has loved
It was a curse
Shame on her
You said “I do”
Shame on you
Regretting every word that you’ve ever said
Cringing of the thoughts, lying in her bed
She smiles in smug, the whole crowd gasps in shock
She starts to morph into something
You’d never thought of.
She sinks her teeth into your neck
Swimming in the pools of your lies and dread
She laughs at you while you lay on the floor
Breathing every last breath you could ever wish for
She inhales in every soul of the room
Sinking in all the sad unwanted doom
She wrings in heel into your chest
Wishing you for the best
Kiss the bride
She’s taken everything you own
Dragging you down from your
precious royal throne
When you kiss her lips
You still the blood
Of all the others
She has loved
She holds a troubled past within her hollow chest
everywhere she goes
She’s guaranteed to leave a mess
She fooled you son
Now there’s nowhere left to run
Don’t try to put up a fight
She will never left you leave her sight
Licking her lips, holding you hand
Grabbing tightly as she can
Deadly daggers, cold stares in her eyes
Shedding you of your simple life
She’s so satisfied of the battle
She has won
She’s gotten to take the life
Of another she has loved
It was a curse
Shame on her
You said “I do”
Shame on you
Regretting every word that you’ve ever said
Cringing of the thoughts, lying in her bed

Chicka Boom! Chapter 1 *UNFINISHED*
Jacob was wrapping my hair around the heating wand and going on about his “so-called” love life.
“I mean, if you’re gonna pick me up and ask me out on the damn date, you should pay to bill.” Jacob scoffed.
“That’s ridiculous Jacob. Men these days!” Lisa was flipping through a magazine smacking on her gum quite loudly. It was her break so she was free to do whatever, for the next 4 minutes. I was tapping my foot to Ke$ha’s “Boots & Boys” playing on the high tech stereo. The one that nobody had an idea to work. So you just pop a CD in and go on with work.
“What’s wrong with you boo-boo?” Jacob put his hand on my shoulder.
“Nothing. Just really tired.” I swept my bangs to the side.
“Okay then, I’ll be done in a couple of minutes so call your mom now.” Jacob took a long sip from his Starbucks cup. Who could have coffee at five in the evening? Only him. I speed dialed my mom and told her to head out the door.
“Oh honey, I’m stuck in this seminar for at least another hour.” She was plugging her ear to block out the noisy water fountain behind her.
“But Jacob closes in an hour and it’s gonna take you forever.” I whined.
“Honey, I’ll text you back later, just go to Marco’s across the street and wait for me there.”
“The Deli? Ew. That place needs to go out of business, they use horse meat.” I fake spitted.
“Well go home with Jacob until I pick you up from his place.”
“Okay.” I cover the mouthpiece. “Hey Jacob, can I go home with you? Only for a little while, until my mom picks me up.”
“Sure sure.” Jacob continues to wrap and drop strands of my hair.
“He said yes.”
“Then I will see you then. Bye.”
“Bye.” I slipped my phone back into my pocket. Jacob got out a huge can of hairspray.
“Cover your eyes boo-boo.” He began to spray. I was in a huge cloud of it. I was coughing and spitting out air.
“Well, I warned you.” He fanned some of it away and spun my chair to the mirror.
“How do you like it boo-boo?” He put on his award-winning smile.
My strawberry blonde hair was draped across my shoulders and complimented my very well.
“Wait, I forgot this.” Jacob ran through one of his over stuffed drawers and pulled out something sparkly. He pinned in one of those flower things.
“Now that’s hot!” He gave himself a pat on the back.
“I absolutely love it.” I played with a few curls and stood up to give him a hug. Jacob never fails to make me look beautiful and that is why he is my favorite hairdresser.
“All I have to do is clean up my station, turn off all the lights, and lock up. Soon we’ll be heading for my humble abode.” Jacob began to clean up. I strolled around the salon. Occasionally taking a bottle or canister of something off the wall and look at it.
“’I’m leaving honey! Bye!” Lisa had her workbag slung over her shoulder as she walked out the glass door.
“Buh bye!” Jacob yelled from the back room.
“Almost done honey!” Jacob was packing his designer bag with some goodies from the fridge. I shot him a gaze.
“What? I bought ’em.” He finished stuffing them and grabbed his keys from his station.
“Let’s go.” He pulled the door shut behind him and locked it. With a switch in his walk and the swooshing sounds of the drinks in his bag, we headed towards his car.
“Is this to 2008 model?” I ran my finger across the trunk top.
“Babe, this is so 2011. Do not insult ‘muh car.” He slipped inside this sleek piece of machinery. I pulled open the door and plopped down into seat. I pulled down my skinny jean leg and smoothed out my shirt. Jacob slipped on his neon purple shades and put the car in reverse.
“Music mademoiselle?” Jacob pulled onto the main street.
“Uhm, sure.” I pushed the POWER button and out blasted Usher and Pitbull’s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love Again”.
“This is ‘muh jam!” Jacob started to bounce around in his seat.
I giggled and tapped my foot along. My phone vibrated. I had a text from mom.
MOM: honey, i just left the building. i’ll be on my way soon.
ME: kk. we’re headin 2 his place now
After 7 minutes of multiple Top 40 songs & some expected road rage from Jacob, we were finally at his condo.
“A couple of rules Macy before we enter: one, take off your shoes before you past the door. Two, ask for permission before you snatch something from my fridge and three, if I am on the phone, do not interrupt me. Enjoy yourself!” Jacob stuck the room key into slot and the light flashed twice.
“You guys have cards instead of keys?” I threw my hair over my left shoulder and hoisted my bag up higher.
“Yeah, this place is so exclusive.” As he pushed the door open, I could see why.
“Ah ah ah! Shoes.” He pointed at my feet. I slipped off my custom Vans. I examined the place. Nice sleek ultra modern features. Stainless steel kitchen appliances that complimented the rectangle black dining table that was next the spiral staircase. The living room was very bare. All Jacob had was a 57” LCD TV with a deep violets couch facing diagonal towards it, a smooth black coffee table with a few Las Vegas coasters and People magazines, a vine plant hanging from ceiling and narrow forest green bookcase in the corner with very few selection.
“I kinda wanted to keep it simple since I’m like never here.” Jacob began up the stairs. “If you need anything, you just yell alright? I’m trying to get ready for the club opening party tonight.” As he trotted up the stairs, I sat on the couch. It had a nice feel to it. As I turned around, I saw a magnificent balcony off to the distance. You could see the nice San Francisco buildings touching the top on the sky. Well, since I had nothing to do for the next 20 minutes or so, I looked for the remote. I mysteriously found it on the kitchen counter next to some large wooden spoons. I flipped through the channels looking for something to my interest when Jacob yelled down the stairs.
“Macy!”
“Yeah?” I power walked to the stairs to hear better.
“Can you let Moxie and Devin out on the balcony. They’re coming down the stairs now. I totally forgot!”
“Okay.” I heard multiple tags jingling as the two fluff balls (one a deep chocolate brown and the other a nice burgundy color.) step down at my feet. I looked down as they looked at me with doubt in their eyes. I wiggled my toes in my poka-dot socks and the brown one started to growl and yap at them.
“Hey hey hey! Mister or thing. Stop doing that!” I squatted to rub its head. I picked it up to see the gender because I was so confused. They both turned out to be boys. I slid the balcony door open and the two hurried outside. I felt a light breeze as I closed the door shut.
“I mean, if you’re gonna pick me up and ask me out on the damn date, you should pay to bill.” Jacob scoffed.

Finding Me 2 *CONTAINS VULGAR LANGUAGE*
Finding Me.
Chapter 2
Breann Wathen
Well on my way to 6th period, Hilary pounced on me.
Well on my way to 6th period, Hilary pounced on me.
“Ehmygosh. Valerie, you can tell me the plan. No one but you, me, and God will know.” Her breath smelled like something fruity.
“Don‘t you remember at camp in the 6th grade, I told you that William Shack kissed me under the big oak tree and you told everyone?” I walked away.
“What was wrong with William?” Hilary picked her nails.
“White boy afro, thick Urkel glasses, acne, freckles and braces?”
“Oh yeah… ew.”
“Bye.” I felt powerful walking down the hallway. Soon to have the guy of my dreams. How? Well if there is a will, there is a way.
“Hey Val!” I turned around and saw Mark Wister waving at me. He is like in 11th grade and is kinda cute. Not really my type.
“Valerie, you know Kayla Reed?” He was huffing and puffing. His breath stenches of Gatorade and Chettos.
“Yeah, what’s it to ya?” I started to walk away.
“Wait, Valerie!” he looked like he needed an emergency inhaler.
“What? I gotta get to Mrs. Taylor’s class before I get a detention!” I was really pissed, I had too many problems.
“Tell her that Mark wants her number.” he ran off to his friends. Okay, I’ll put that in the back of my mind. Wait, isn’t he dating Shelia? The bell rang. Oh shit. I rushed down to Mrs. Taylor’s class but she had slammed the door shut. I swear… that woman. Well I peeked through the window and saw the usual kids. Jeremy Hay making kissing faces at his girlfriend, Helen Lewis. However, she was too busy make eyes at Victor Green. Gosh, everyone tells Jeremy that she is just a cheater/whore. I mean, she flirts with everyone. Yes, even girls. Seven cheerleaders caught Helen making out with Fiona West in the locker room after a game.
Then Marie Ellis was filing her nails and her twin, Melanie was hiding all the way in the back. Every thinks she is a mute because she never talks. I finally gave up and just banged on the door. Taylor Watkins popped up from her seat and opened the door. Teacher pet.
“Oh, why hello Valerie. Why don’t you take a seat and join us from some history? Detention, Thursday at 3 o clock.” Mrs. Taylor handed me a green slip. Urgh. I sat next to Lawrence Saw. He just loves to stare at me and offer me pencils.
“Need a pencil Valerie?” Lawrence was breathing heavy and I saw a dribble of drool fall from his metal mouth. I could tell that his eyes were just fixed on my chest.
“Oh, no thanks for the 172nd time.” I gave him a fake smile.
“Okay. Just tell me if you need one.” He turned around and shuddered.
“Today class, we will study the history of Benjamin Franklin. He was famous inventor.” Mrs. Taylor just carried on about this dude. I tapped my pencil and day dreamed of Ian. We were sharing a Root beer float at Danny’s Shoppe. Then we took me to the creek behind the old toothpaste tube factory. We held hands and made out. Best dream ever. Apparently, I ignored the fact that Mrs. Taylor was standing right above me. I looked up and saw her gross double chin and nose hairs. I started to giggle but got my act together.
“Well, Ms. Gregory, would you like to tell us 5 things Mr. Benjamin Franklin invented?” Mrs. Taylor had a devilish smirk on her face.
“Umm, he discovered electricity. Glasses, he is on a hundred dollar bill, the stove, he like signed something important and some other crap. I don’t know.” I crossed my arms and leaned back in my chair.
“Well, since you don’t know, here’s an extra assignment for you tonight. I want it in complete sentences and three no, four pages long. My hand tomorrow morning.” She handed me a paper with tiny print all over it. I sighed and stuffed it in a folder. Of course, I am not going to do it. It is the end of the day and Mrs. Taylor sends us to our lockers. Well, not much homework tonight. But I still gotta go over Jenny’s today. While I was stuffing all kinds of papers and pencils in my backpack, I saw that jacket. I was pissed but happy at the same time. Just to think that if I wore that jacket, Ian would have never noticed me. So that means he was just staring at my boobs. Well that’s just magnificent! Sarcasm people.
“Valerie! Valerie! Hold on girl!” Jenny was stumbling through the crowd of kids.
“Oh hey! How was your day?” I put my arm around her shoulder.
“Oh nothing. But Daniel has like sent me 1,000 text messages.” Jenny pulled out her lime green Blackberry Storm.
“Oh god.” Jenny raised her honey blonde eyebrows in alarm.
“What?” I peeked over her shoulder. I saw the time and nudged her side.
“Jenny, tell me on the bus. The whole school has cleared out.” I giggled. Jenny flipped her hair, smoothed out her skirt and sniffled.
“Okay but be prepared.” She quickly walked to the bus and found a seat. I was kinda lost with all her emotions. I swished into the seat.
“So what happened?” I poked Jenny’s elbow.
“Just look!” she turned her head towards the window and her phone flopped in my lap.
“Umm, look at what?” I just saw a picture of her kissing her hamster, Goo Bear.
“Yeah, nothing to look at.” Jenny pushed the phone in my face.
“And?” I pushed her hands away.
“Daniel didn’t send me anything.” Jenny just started to cry.
“Well Jenny, just send him a message right now.” I awkwardly patted her shoulder.
“I can’t. He is at lacrosse practice and then he was some kinda thing going on at church.” Jenny got a tissue from her backpack and wiped her tears.
“You got a little makeup right there…” I poked at her face. She started to laugh.
“Well, I guess I can text him around 9... Or 8.” Jenny was acting like she was making a life decision. The bus went over a speed bump and made the whole bus bounce. Including my boobs. Like two seventh graders were staring.
“Look at me again and I will put a hex on you two. A hex that will make your flesh rot and your soul catch on fire. Want that?” I gave them eerie eyes.
“No.” One turned back to his seat and stuck his thumb in his mouth.I could tell that the second guy was gonna try me.
“No and you have nice boobs.” He gave me a smirk. I held my fist up and he scurried to the back of the bus. Our stop was next. Jenny was wiping tears from her face. She has always been a drama queen. My phone had starting to vibrate. I pulled it out and I had got a text message. It was from Kayla.
From: Kayla Reed
To: Valerie Gregory
Subject: Tell Mehh Noww >:I

I’m not texting her back. Well maybe to tell her about Mark. I never really thought of the plan. It really slipped my mind. The bus came to an abrupt stop. It jerked my head forward. I grabbed my backpack and rubbed my neck. Jenny hung her head down and moped all the way to her house.
“Well, are you really positive that Ian has a crush on me?” I nudged Jenny for the fifth time. She was just a silent walking doll. I thought that it wasn’t really anything to over obsess about. He had things to do, he could just text her later. Maybe he means a lot to her.
“Jenny?” I nudged her again. She just gave me a blank stare. She put her phone in my palm.
“Read it.” Jenny sniffled and pulled her backpack on her shoulder. So I look at the phone and there was a text from Daniel. Why was she still sad, she finally got the text that she wanted. Then the truth started to unravel.

The jerk. How could he cheat on Jenny like that? I tried to catch up with Jenny. Then her phone began to play “Rude Boy” by Rihanna. Daniel was calling.
“Jenny, you will not believe who is calling!” I held the phone in the air.
“Jenny, you will not believe who is calling!” I held the phone in the air.
“You talk to him. I have nothing to say.” Jenny stuck her Winnie the Pooh key in the door and opened it.
“Heeeellllooooo?” I snickered.
“Oh, is this Jenny?”
“No.”
“Well can I talk to her?”
“She doesn’t wanna talk to you.”
“Please. I gotta explain something to her.”
“You explained enough in that text!”
“No, my brother sent that to his slut of a girlfriend. Her name is Jenny but I think she could ever have the name of someone so wonderful!”
“Oh really?” I think is he is telling the truth.
“Yes really. Now can you tell her that or can I speak to her?” I think I heard him whimper.
“Hold on.” I put the phone in my back pocket and rushed up to Jenny’s room. She was lying in the floor with her iPod on high playing Beyonce’s ’If I Were a Boy’ and eating some Wheat Thins. She was wearing some PINK sweatpants and a gray tank top with her poka dot bra showing. Her hair was in a messy ponytail and countless make-up covered tissues were on her fuzzy peach rug.“Jenny, he has something to tell you.” I waved the phone at her. She paused, looked at me and reached her hand out. She snatched it away from me so hard, that I feel that my skin was missing.
“Daniel. I cant believe what you just sent me!” She knocked the box of Wheat Thins over. His voice was muffled but I could hear him somewhat good.
“…My brother…sent that text!…I’m so sorry!” Jenny sat there and nodded her head.
“You sure?” Jenny put her hand over her mouth and looked at me. I gave her an uneasy look.
“Baby…love you…douche bag…meet me…Thursday…please.”
“’Kay. I love you too. See ya!” Jenny made a kissy noise & hung up the phone. She gave me thumbs up.
“Did I do the right thing? Was he really telling the truth? Oh my gosh! Valerie, help me!” She got up and stared into my eyes.
“Uh, yeah. Now let’s get you ready for Thursday and Satuday!” I sparked a big smile. We searched her closet for a perfect outfit.
“Ugh! I have nothing to wear!” She popped outta a pile of clothes.
“I need to do some major shopping!”
“No. You have enough already.” I was holding up a yellow strapless dress. She shook her head no, so I threw it back into the pile.
“Well nothing is really cute.” She pouted.
“Then what the hell were you thinking when you bought all this?” I really wanted an answer.
“Never mind.” Jenny scratched her head and got up.
“I gotta go home soon Jenn.” I reassured her.“
"’Kay, buh bye.” She stuck her neon purple filed nail in her mouth and puckered her lips. I grabbed my backpack, checked my pockets for my phone, and tied my shoelace.
“Wait, how are you gonna get home?” Jenny whispered. I totally forgot about that. And I still have no clue how.
“TARC?” I rose my eyebrows and even shifted my bangs so she could see.
“Ew. Certain gross people ride that toilet on wheels.” She scowled.
“Well, I don’t have any more options.” I plopped down on the pile with her. Those clothes aren’t much cushion because my butt hurts. Jenny checked her phone.
“My mom should be home in half an hour. I‘ll text her and ask if she can take you home.” she gave me that unsure look again.
“’Kay. I’ll wait. So what we gonna do?” I reached in my side backpack pocket and pulled out a piece of Trident gum.
“Well, you could tell me that plan of yours.” She wiggled her finger in my face.
“Well, I don’t really know what I’m gonna do. I just said it to say it?” I buried my face in my palms.
“Why did you lie to the girls?”
“You knew the whole time?”
“Well yeah, your lie cracked when you ran to the trash can to get outta getting asked questions.” She pinched my cheek.
“Well, Hilary and Kayla asked me. But can you help me?” I put my hands together pleading her advice.
“Sure girl and plus, why did star cornerback Mark Wister talk to you in the hallway?” She raised her eyebrow again.
“How did you know about that?”
“I see everything.” She winked.
“Well, he wants Kayla’s number.”
“Text her and dish. She could be hanging on his arm by now!” Jenny whipped out her cell phone and scrambled through her contacts.

“Send.” Jenny gave herself a pat on her back.
“I know what you could wear!” I shook her shoulders and fumbled all over the floor.
“What?” She looked kinda queasy to me.
“Buy online.” I have answered all of her problems.
“Oh no, I made the biggest mess last year doing that.” Jenny crossed her arms. Five minutes later after debating about her so called “fashion crisis”, Jenny’s mom pulls up.
“My mom’s here, got all your stuff?” Jenny starts to stuff some of the clothes into a drawer.
“Yeah. But you really should buy an outfit online; it’s really simple if you know what you’re doing.” I grabbed my backpack and dusted off my butt.
“Well, thanks for going through all this drama with me in the past…hour. You’re a pretty awesome friend.” Jenny holds out her arms out for a hug.
“Well, I try.” I reached around her. Jenny’s mom, Samantha, honks her horn twice; A sign that I gotta get my ass outta here.
“Text you later?” I grab the doorknob and turn back.
“Pshyeah.” She presses play on her iPod and bounces to P!nk’s “So What”I laughed at her awkward dance moves. I really hope she doesn’t do that at the upcoming dance. The one that I still don’t have a date too. I’ll worry about that later. I slide down the rail, impressed that I made it all the way down without fault. As I walk out the door, I see some kind of note taped to the doorbell. It says ‘from your true love, Kyle. I am in total awe. First, who the hell is Kyle? Is it Samantha’s boyfriend, I mean she is single since the whole Hooters incident with Jenny’s dad. Or is it some dude from school that likes her?

Finding Me.
Chapter 1
By: Breann Wathen
Why? My everyday question. I stare into the mirror at my face. Such dark features. All I ever do is hide under all the makeup. It never works. For some reason everyone sees the real me. I hate it. I don’t wanna share my feelings, discuss them, or even think about them. But it’s terribly hard when you are crushing really bad on a boy. His name is Ian Michael Towns. Greatest guy ever. Why can’t I ever let him know how much I care? I don’t wanna come off stalker-ish or just pop outta my shell. I like my shell. Everything I need and want is in there. No need or rush to finally “burst out with color”! Ugh. Well the school bus arrives in seven minutes and I still need to get ready. Hell, if it’s not ironed, oh well. I scan my closet for something. No time. A My Chemical Romance tank, Trips black faded skinny jeans and my flaming hot red Converse. Not forgetting to add my lace choker I made myself and my skull ring. Being Goth rules. Grabbing my checkered Dickies backpack, I tip-toed down the steps so my mom wouldn’t throw a bitch fit. I successfully slid through the door and walked down to the bus stop.
That annoying 6th grader, Johnny Harrison just had to be there. He was usually always sick or someone was always dieing. I don’t even wanna know. Then there was Malory Kinderson. She was cool except the fact that she carries around a bottle of pills and pops one in between her glossy lips every hour or so. I always meant to ask what they were for but right now it doesn’t matter.
“Good morning Valerie!” Malory put her bangle filled arm around me.
“Hey.” I hoarsely replied.“So have you told Ian anything yet?” She winked her eye. She had pink eyeliner and some kind of glittery eye shadow to balanced well with her pastel skin tone.
“No!” I shrugged her arm off of me and blushed a little. I shifted my raven bangs over my cheek so she couldn’t see. Never gonna come outta my shell.
“Well, do something quick girl because I see Chelsea Sanchez eyeing him everyday.” Malory popped a piece of 5 gum in her mouth and smacked quietly.
“What am I supposed to do?!” I yelped. I quickly covered my mouth. The bus arrived just in time. I stepped up slowly and looked back at Malory. She was smiling from ear to ear. I sat in the 4th empty seat and Malory got all close to me. All I could smell was her Bath & Body Works Pink Grapefruit body mist.
“What should you do?! Ask him out! You’ve been crushing on him since the 3rd grade! We’re in the 9th grade! ” Malory was waving her arms around everywhere. Just so happens that Ian’s best friend, Chad was right behind us taking notes with his mind. Why does everyone have to know?!
“Ooo! Valerie has a crush on Ian!” Chad stood up and pointed his fingers at my head. I sunk down and covered my ears from all the “Oh my gosh!” and “Eww” and “Aww!”. Even Malory joined in and poked me. I sat in misery for 12 minutes. The bus came to a halt and the doors creaked open. One by one we got off. I sulked to the doors of school as kids looked at me and laughed. I finally got to my locker when Ian walked by and flashed me a smile. I smiled back and scrolled through the numbers on the lock. Only to notice to look down and see that I had cleavage! Damn puberty! Then everyone started to notice my boobs. I scrambled through my locker for a hoodie but no luck. I just grabbed all my books and held them closely to my chest. I love My Chemical Romance but this tank top was just not working. I scurried to 1st period only to not notice Ian and bumped into him. Just my freaking luck. I bended over to pick up a few books and he mimicked my moves. He was trying so hard to look into my eyes but the “girls” got in the way. He shook his brunette scruffy polished hair.
“Sorry about that Ian.” I started to blush again. No! I can’t come outta my shell now!
“No prob!” He handed me my notebook and a paper fell out. He picked it up and read it.
“Ian and Valerie 4 Ever?” He looked at me! Oh my gosh! I got even rosier! He laughed awkwardly and placed it on my pile.
“See you later, Valerie!” He winked his emerald green eye at me. I almost fainted but more things were important. I’m so going to be all pretty girl instead of Goth. I might just die. While on my trip to 1st period, I got even more looks from guys. I felt wanted but in a good way. I think I might like puberty now. I slightly slipped in Mr. Bishop’s classroom and sat in my assigned seat. Jenny was texting her boyfriend, Daniel.
“Hey Jenny! Notice anything different?” I poked my c-cups out a little.
“Oh my gosh! You finally got your nose pierced?! Just kidding. Ohh, nice rack.” She nudged my side and I giggled. My Goth-ness is slipping away.
“Plus I heard about you and Ian! Tell me everything because I want the whole truth and nothing but the truth!” Jenny hopped over a seat to get closer.
“Well Malory told the whole bus and they made their share of fun. Then at my locker, Ian walked by and smiled but then I noticed my boobs were out and I looked for a hoodie but no luck.” I paused every three seconds cause Jenny’s phone keep vibrating.
“Go on! I can text him after lunch.” Jenny turned her phone off. That’s a first.
“But then I bumped into him, dropped my books and he helped me pick them up. Of course my boobs were hanging out and he stared but he shook out his trance. This random paper with our names on it fell out and he read it, laughed awkwardly and winked at me.” I talked so fast I was outta breath. Jenny was cracking up. I looked at her puzzled. What had to be so damn funny?
“You’re crazy.” Jenny held her sides and pointed behind me. I turned around and Ian was still flashing that ever so great smile. Here I go again, with the whole blushing thing.
“What are you doing here?” I giggle with a fake smile, knowingthat inside, my heart was racing.
“I got transferred. Apparently, I’m smarter than Mrs. Yield.” He snickered.
“Oh, well good luck because Mr. Bishop is a hard ass.” I turned back around and gave Jenny my “you should have warned me earlier” look. She replied with a “oh well, you talked to him!” look. The school bell rang and announcements came on. Hearing Mr. Dowel’s voice in monotone was like mini daggers driven into my earlobes. Yeah, I know, that was graphic.
“Ok class, open your books to page 463 and begin to read the story and answer questions #1-16 in complete sentences.” Mr. Bishop was writing on the white board. I grabbed under my desk to get my book but I left it in my locker while I was freaking out. I looked at Jenny but she was just texting Jay, well I think that’s his name. Well, I was just gonna sit there and look around but Ian tapped my shoulder.
“Here.” He handed me his book.
“Oh thanks but I can just sit here and do nothing.” Blushing again.
“Ok then, we can share.” He altered his bangs over his gray eye.
“Sure.” I panicked.
“Well, scoot closer. We’re like 3 feet away.” Ian chuckled. Mr. Bishop gave him a dirty look.
“Well, get started.” Mr. Bishop took a long sip from his steaming coffee mug. It said “I’m 40 and loving it” That couldn’t be true. Mr. Bishop looked like he could be George Washington’s cousin.
“Ok, page 463 do do de do…” Ian was skimming the pages. Oh, why was he so attractive?
“The Baker Mysteries.” Ian mumbled.
“Is it about a secret recipe we’ll never know?” I punched his arm softly.
“Sounds like it but no. It’s this really weird family that disappears two days after moving in.” Ian punched my arm and chuckled.
“You’ve read it before?”
“Fifth grade book report. It’ll be a breeze to answer this questions.” Ian flipped right to the questions and ripped a piece of paper from his notebook.
“I’ll do all the work, just look like your doing something.” Ian jolted down all the answers. I was amazed. Time flew by and finally the bell rang.
“Ok, turn your papers into this stack as you exit the classroom.” Mr. Bishop had his head buried in some cheesy romance novel. Ian tapped me on my bare shoulder. His touch was like something magical and short, but I think it meant something.
“Hey, Valerie!” Ian was right behind me with that smile again. Does he wanna hang out? Does he wanna be my boyfriend? Does he wanna make out? So many questions.
“You forgot your notebook.” He handed it to me and gave me a salute. Am I disappointed? Yes, very. I jogged to catch up with Jenny, trying not to make my boobs bounce.
“Well, I’m off to the bathroom.” Jenny whispered.
“Why?”
“Well, Hank is walking down the hallway and I don’t wanna run into him.” Jenny gave me a disgusted look and walked off. Hank was her ex-boyfriend. He kinda acted like a whore. He always tried to get noticed by the other gender, broke up with Jenny seven times, and even talked bad about her behind her back. Ugh, he was just horrible. I wonder if Ian would act like that? Nevermind, he’s just to perfect. Second period was oh so boring and ditto for third. The only exciting thing that happened was that Jack Conway took two beakers and smashed them. For no reason really. Well, he got a detention and called Mrs. Hay a bitch under his breath. Walking to 4th period, I saw Jenny crying at my locker. I walked over and put on my “I care, really.” face because I really I do.
“Jenny, what’s going on?”
“Hank, Hank, Hank…” was all she can say.
“What the hell did he do this time?”
“Hank…he keeps telling everyone that we had sex and he did me good. That he just planted his seed and left it to grow. And even keeps mentioning that I’m easy. Everyone believes it. Do you?” Jenny had mascara running down her cheeks.
“Ugh, He’s such a dick!” I threw my books on the ground. “I know.” She slid her palms across her face and wiped them on her skirt.
“I mean, he should just fall in a hole and never come back.” I hit my head on the locker and made a loud smack. Jenny snickered and I yelped and rubbed my head.
“Well, I guess I’ll go to class.” Jenny stood up and looked down the halls. Everyone was gone. I stood up and walked down to Mrs. Hue’s classroom. Big shock, Malory was in front of the room giving some kind of presentation about “saying no to drugs” and all that shit. She gave a creepy “sit the hell down” smile/look. I slid into my seat and Mrs. Hue wasn’t even paying attention. She has OCD so she just kept rearranging things on her desk and talking quietly to herself. She just weirds me out.
“Now I think that I’m aware that all you guys and gals know about sex?” Malory shouted over all the talking. Everyone silenced.
“I do! I do!” Jamie raised her hand and yelped.
“Well, what is it? What is sex?” Malory pointed her French manicured finger on Jamie and gestured her to go on.
“Well sex is…” Jamie started but some of these boys in the back were laughing. Jamie turned around and stuck her tongue out at them.
“Sex is the act of pleasure between a man and woman.” This one gay guy, Mitchell cleared his throat.
“Okay, well anyone.” Jamie gave him a ‘are you satisfied?’ look.
“This can lead to pregnancy or some kind of sexual transmitted disease as known as STD if you don’t use protection.” Jamie had a smirk on her face and leaned back.
“Okay, did everyone hear her?” Mrs. Hue screeched.
“What? Listen to who?” Billy was digging in his ear, just to get laughs from his crew.
“Just never mind. If you get someone pregnant or get a STD oh freaking well!” Malory stormed out the room. She gets really pissed if you never listen to her. I learned that the hard way. I peeked through the door and saw Malory sitting next to the counselors’ office, Mrs. Norman. She popped two pills in her mouth and walked into her room. Well, that’s two friends in need. Jenny ran to me in the hallway on the way to lunch.
“Ekk! Me and Daniel are going out Saturday to the movies! Fingers crossed that I’ll get that kiss I have always wanted!” Jenny couldn’t stop smiling and jumping up and down.
“You haven’t kissed him yet?”
“No, we’ve only been together since the 7th grade.”
“That’s like…” I counted on my fingers. ”2 years?! Wowzya, you’ve been really patient for it.”
“Yeah, I know and I’m gonna wear the cutest dress ever! You have to come over today to help my decide!” Jenny was clapping her hands. Mark Wister and his super bitchy girlfriend Shelia gave us some weird looks.
“Well the date isn’t till Saturday and it’s Tuesday.” I rolled my eyes and walked into the cafeteria. I strolled down the long ass line just to get some gross crud. I saw Ian and he smiled at me again. My knees felt wobbly. I smiled back and got some milk. I bum rushed to the table with Jenny, Hilary and Kayla. They were all cool to my standards.
“Hey ya girls!” I put my hair in a ponytail.
“Hi.” Hilary poked at her macaroni and cheese or spinach, I have no clue.
“Wazz up!” Kayla giggled.
“So tell them all about Ian.” Jenny leaned in and stared.
“Ian Towns? Hockey hottie Ian Towns? 3.8 grade average Ian Towns?” Kayla dropped her gummy worms on the table.
“Well yeah. I like him but I don’t know if he likes me.” I blush again.
“Valerie Kelsey Gregory! He is so in love with you. Gosh, like how did you not know?” Jenny sipped on her Mountain Dew.
“Ohmygosh! I mean, really?” I felt tears well up in my eyes. I tried so hard to hold them back. Tears of joy.
“Yah, it’s like so obvious that he like loves you.” Jenny plopped her head into her hands.
“Well you better go get him.” Hilary poked my side.
“Ditto on that one. I mean, he’s hella hawt and some other girl or Mitchell will be on him in two seconds.” Kayla was putting on more lip gloss.
“Well, I’ll wait till next week…” I crossed my legs and played with my hole in my jeans.
“So you can see another girl in his toned arms?” All the girls shouted in unison.
“No, you guys just wait and see. I got a plan to make him mine.” I had a devilish smirk on my face.
“Dish!” in unison again.
“No. You will never know.” The lunch bell rang and I rushed to the trash to throw away my untouched food. I just lied. I have no plan. What the hell am I gonna do?

Chapter 1
I walked outside of my house on a rainy day, barefooted and in my soccer uniform. Sitting in my late grandma’s rocking chair, I thought what it would be like to not live in Kirkwood. This place is like a ghost town. I snuggled with Moosh, my cat and our family quilt. I enjoyed the soft sounds of the soothing rain. It was like a song on replay but it was the best song ever. I had to get outside. My sister, Courtney was driving me crazy. All she was doing was eating popcorn, complaining about her hair and wardrobe, listening to Justin Timberlake and talking to Bradley, her boyfriend. Ugh, I couldn’t stand another lyric from that dude or another, “I love you too!” My step-mom, Stephanie was going to be home soon and I love it when she’s here. Yeah, I know. She’s not my real mother but at least she treats me like her own. My mom died of a heart attack when I was two. Stephanie is the closet thing to a mom and I love her for trying. All Courtney does is cry and whine because she knows Stephanie will never take mom’s place. Yeah, I cry sometimes but at least Stephanie cares for us, Courtney just needs to accept it. And I never really got to know my mom. My dad, Walter works 8am to 10pm. All of us tell him that’s too long and he should ask his boss for shorter hours. Well, he never listens. He always tells us that he’s only doing it to keep us alive and because he loves us. If I had to work an 8am to 10pm job, I would quit. I can’t stay focused that long. All my dad does at work is fix computers.
“Well good evening girls! Thanks for cleaning the house up a little. It looks great!” Stephanie walks through the door amazed. She must have not seen me on the porch because she locked me outside. I giggled then knocked on the door.
“Who is it?”
“Me. Brittany Jane Reel.” Stephanie opens the door. Moosh scurries inside.
“Were you hiding? I didn’t notice you!” She threw her hands out for a hug.
“No. I was sitting in the rocking chair. Having a lil’ me time.” I hugged her. The warmth of her hug made me feel loved. Like someone actually cared about me and wasn’t being fake or unreal.
“Well, I’ll have dinner ready in a second!” She walked to the sink to wash her hands.
“What’s on the menu?” I sat at the dining room table and grabbed my book, ‘Numerous Affairs: I wouldn’t dare’. It’s my all time favorite from the whole series. I must have read it 9 times, cover to back. But the real reason is that we live so far away from the bookstore and the library only has 3rd grade level books. Stephanie opens up the fridge door and studies everything inside.
“Hmmm, how about tossed salad, rosemary baked chicken and ‘mooshed’ potatoes?” She pops her head up from the door smiling. She called them ‘mooshed’ potatoes because she can never say ‘mashed’ correctly. I laugh every time.
“Sounds wonderful.” I try to hold back my laughter. She shoots me a weird look then gets all the ingredients.
“Need any help, Chef Stepha-nahhhh?” I ask.
“No, and it’s Stephanie. Did you finish all your homework?”
“Yeah but all I have is a book report.” I held up my book.
“Haven’t you did a report on that be…”
“7 times. Mrs. Harrison doesn’t pay attention. Plus I don’t have anything else.”
“Well, this weekend, we’ll go to the bookstore. Have a little girl time. Agreed?”
“Yeah. Thanks.” I ran upstairs to my room and plopped down on my bed. The fresh scent of roses. I sneezed. Apparently, cat hair went up my nose. I laughed so hard, my sides started to hurt. Courtney burst in my room.
“Ever heard of knocking?” I got up of the floor.
“Do you have my spiceberry lip gloss?”
“Eww. I wouldn’t touch anything that touched YOUR lips.” And then I thought about that time I accidentally walked in on her and Bradley making out. One word, tongues. I shuddered.
“Don’t lie to me. I need it for my date tonight. It’s Bradley’s favorite.” Courtney tossed her hair and swung her hips.
“What? I don’t have it, plus you can’t go out tonight.”
“Whatever.” She walked out my room. My sister has some mental issues. I ran downstairs to dish the dirt on her. But when I got to the stairs, she was there.
“Tell Stephanie and I will tell them about the little thing…”
“What thing?”
“When you stole all those earrings and hair crap from Claire’s.”
“How did you know?!”
“A little birdie told me.”
“You devil worshiping whore.” I muttered under my breath loud enough for her to hear.
“Try me, Brittany.” We exchanged stern looks. I walked back to my room only to scream in my pillow. I can’t stand Courtney. I only took them so, so, so Bradley could notice me! Yeah, I have a crush on him. I just don’t know what he sees in…Courtney. Plus when I saw them making out, my heart collapsed. I tried everything for him to notice me. Spent my allowance on perfume, bigger bras, lip gloss, new clothes. And even looked online for cheesy pick up lines and jokes. Nothing worked. So we went to the mall and him and Courtney were all kissy-kissy touchy-touchy and stuff. I got tempted to make him mine so I went into Claire’s and looked around. I stuck all kinds of stuff into my backpack. And when I left the store, no alarms went off. I was lucky. I know that if anyone else knew, they would be disappointed. Including Dad and Stephanie. I screamed some more then I started to cry. I couldn’t tell anyone my problems because I had a lot. I couldn’t even tell Stephanie. I won’t let Courtney get the best of me. Two more years then Dad and Stephanie can kick her out because no one really likes her. She always ignores Stephanie. And yells at Dad for dating Stephanie because she’s nothing but a “no good hooker”. Only if Bradley could see the real her. Before she puts on all the gunk on her face, when she wakes up, when everyone is home, even on her period because that’s when she is the nastiest. Soon Bradley will see the real her and realize that he should date me and then we can get married. He’s really hot. He’s a ginger but that still makes him even cuter. He has red hair that flows over one eye and these forest green eyes that you could stare into all day. Plus he’s really buff but not like someone that works out too much and has hair on his chest! Bradley plays hockey, I mean he puts on ice skates and skates around but he tackles dudes down and outta his way to get that one puck to hit that net. Why can’t he be mine? “Girls, dinner is ready!” Stephanie yelled from downstairs.I walked out my room first; making sure Courtney wasn’t in sight. I held my lips real tight when she walked by. I walked slowly to the dining room table.
“You girls okay?” Stephanie sat the chicken in the center of the table.
“Yes.” We both answered. Courtney gave me a dirty look.
“Okay then. Who wants to say grace?”“I will.” Courtney bowed her head and recited the Lord’s Prayer in the whiniest voice ever. My ears hurt from each screech.
“Okay girls, dig in! Hope you enjoy!” Stephanie flashed a smile. She was a really good cook.
“I’m not really that hungry. Can I go back upstairs?” Courtney blurted out as soon as Stephanie put a plate in front of her face.
“Are you sure honey? There’s plenty for all!” Stephanie tried to hold back her tears. She knew that she could never form a relationship with Courtney.
“Yes. I had a really big snack after school.” Courtney rose from the table. Yeah, six pieces of popcorn. Really big! I thought
“Whatever you want dear. But if you ever…” Stephanie was interrupted.
“No thanks.” Courtney bolted up the stairs. I had to hold back my urge to tell her about Courtney’s date. I just couldn’t. As soon as the door slammed, I told Stephanie.
“Courtney won’t eat because she’s going on a date with Bradley tonight! She might sneak out, I don’t really know.” I quickly put my hands over my mouth. Revenge is going to get me.
“Well, I’ll just have to deal with this myself.” I knew Stephanie couldn’t be serious. Well, she was. She stomped up the stairs and banged on her door. My jaw dropped.
“Courtney! What is it about this date! I really would love to know!” Stephanie stood there. Courtney opened door in some skimpy red dress and a condoms stuffed in her bra. She quickly tried to hide it but Stephanie grabbed it. I was so shocked.
“A condom?! What were you planning to do?” Stephanie turned bright red. Courtney stood in shock.
“Well tell me.” Stephanie toned down a little.
“Bradley thought it was the time and I agreed.” Courtney held her head down.
“No no no no no no! Your only 16! Sex is not important! You need to find other things to do than trying to make babies!”
“Okay then! It’s not like you run things around here! I can do whatever the hell I want!” Courtney tried to slam the door but Stephanie held it open.
“Now I do run things around here. And you better not use that kind of language around me! All I tried to do is be a good mother to you and all you do is mouth off and disrespect me and your father. Keep it up and your gone!” Stephanie had Courtney’s arm.
“Okay.” Courtney’s eyes were huge and I think I could hear her heart beat.
“Now your going come downstairs and enjoy dinner with me and your sister. No sneaking out or it’s over for you.” Stephanie’s words were clear.
“And take of the skimpy dress. And throw it in the trash.” Courtney slid into her room. I turned around back to the table.
“Sorry about that Brittany. She needed to be set straight.” Stephanie acted like nothing happened. She got up to throw away the condom. Courtney slopped down the stairs in a green t-shirt and black sweat pants.
“Thanks for joining us Courtney.” Stephanie handed her the “mooshed” potatoes.
“Anything exciting happen today?” Stephanie stuffed a piece of lettuce in her mouth.
“Nothing really much.” Courtney mumbled.
“Brittany?” Stephanie asked.
“Well, I got a B+ on that biology quiz today.”
“Great. Great.’ Stephanie put her hands in her lap. Dinner was usually fun, when it was just me and Stephanie. Finally the silence was broken by dad bursting through the door. He still doesn’t understand how to use a key.
“Hello hello family.” He perched his jacket on the coat stand and opened his arms up for a hug. I ran to give him a hug. He smelled like Post-It glue, coffee and copy paper. The joy of working in an office 8am-10pm.
“Hey Daddy!” I was smushed against his pearl white oxford with a ketchup stain on the collar.
“Nothing much Sugar Buns!” He bellowed out a hearty laugh. He comes up with the weirdest nick names.
“Hello my darling. How was your day?” He walked over to Stephanie and they like made out in front of me and Courtney. I shivered and Courtney cleared her throat VERY loudly. Thank God. Dad wiped off Stephanie’s lip gloss. I snickered.
“Well, what did ya fix for dinner?” He plopped down at the table with a grin on his face from ear to ear.
“Tossed salad, rosemary baked chicken and ‘mooshed’ potatoes.” Stephanie sat a gigantic plate in front of him with double servings of everything. Two seconds later, he started to chow down.
“Well girls, I guess it’s a wrap. Upstairs for bed.” Stephanie added hand signals like me and Courtney had problems understanding, well like Courtney didn’t understand.
“Ok. Good night.” We both said in monotone. I shot her a snarl and she just poked her nose in the air and stomped up the stairs. I walked slowly up the stairs and opened my door. To my surprise, Courtney trashed it. And in some cheap lipstick on my mirror, it said “Kiss ur life good bye. Xoxo” and her disgusting lie-telling lip print. I so fed up with her and everything she does. I had another urge to rat her out, but I didn’t want to ruin Stephanie and Dad’s night. I got a wet paper towel and smeared the devil’s work off my mirror. Shuffling through my drawers to find my pajamas, I found some love note from this guy from my school.
Ugh, Derrick was this annoying 6th grader that was in love with me. He was just willing to do anything for me. If there is just some way to get him off my back, please tell me. I know that most girls would just love guys all over them, but I’m not really feeling Derrick. Get a makeover and skip two grades dude, and I’ll talk to you later. Hopping into the bed, I stared at my ceiling fan. Moosh pounced on her bed but he missed. He let out a yowl. I leaned over to see if he was okay. He licked his paw and stared right up at me. I held out my hands and he dug his claws in my palms. I let out a little yelp and pulled him up. He snuggled his butt right in front of my face. I patted it and turned over. Gosh, well tomorrow is Friday. Any kid would be all excited and calling all their friends but I’m the complete opposite. Kirkwood is filled with nursing homes, craft stores miles away and trees. Nothing exciting ever happens except on the fourth of July. Last year, three firecrackers went off. That was three more than the year before!
Well, I do have friends. Distant friends. Katie has been my friend since 4th grade. We both loved Pokemon at the time, so we clicked. Katie is a big mixture of a tomboy and girly-girl. I mean she would wear skirts (in the 6th grade, she found out boys like girly-girls with curls and curves instead of girls with mammoth legs and greasy hair.) and she played hardcore lacrosse. And I would go to all of her games and she was tough. Now she goes to Oliver Middle but we still chat on the phone and stuff. Amelia Giselle Leigh-Ann Hart III (she loves it when you call her by her full name) became my friend last spring. We both played soccer and loved lunch meat. But the only reason Amelia played soccer this summer was because her mom wanted her to do something different then max out all her credit cards. I’m glad soccer was her choice because she’s really fun and good at it. We’ve won more than 3 games with her on the team then last year. Then there’s Ryan. Ryan is well…really hard to put him in words. He can be very funny but somewhat tricky.
Should I continue or what? I kinda have no idea what to add to it.
